COP30: Valuing the Amazon’s Last Flying River

in-the-news

At COP30, Blue Green Future co-founder Connel Fullenkamp presented our work with Gaia Amazonas, ACTO, and the Inter-American Development Bank on creating economic value for the Amazon’s rainfall-generating forests—the “Last Flying River.” Drawing on cutting-edge research, the presentation shows how deforestation reduces rainfall and GDP across Latin America, and how protecting the standing forest safeguards billions in agricultural, hydropower, and water-security value. This initiative seeks to make visible the true worth of living nature as a source of water, climate stability, and economic prosperity.
